“Can’t Stop. Won’t Stop!”

“In it for the long haul!” I remember when Dick Mills, a traveling evangelist, spoke this over my life and ministry. I’ll never forget it. This came to mind while in prayer, preparing to write this letter. Back in December 2024, the Lord spoke to me about “Get It Done!” I have been meditating and writing on this statement since.

I gave you three things that God spoke to me concerning 2025—a year of grace, the spirit, and obedience. Over the last few months, I’ve taken the time to break those down. You can review those thoughts under the blog tab on our website. However, with that, I began examining my own life and started thinking of practical ways, day in and day out, to accomplish what God has placed in my heart for this season. How do we achieve the assignment, fulfill the mission when disappointment, fatigue, and opposition set up camp in our front yard? Paul said in 2 Peter 1:12, “For this reason I will not be negligent to remind you always of these things…” What I’m about to share is not new or complex, but are simply the keys to completing what needs to be done.

Mark 5:25 begins to tell of the woman with the issue of blood for twelve years. It continues to state that she had subjected herself to the medical practices that left her in worse shape than when she began. Have you been in a situation that seemed to drag on, and despite all efforts, only worsened? You’re not alone. This woman found herself in a demanding situation, but everything changed when she did three specific things. First, she heard something. (What you hear concerning your situation matters.) Specifically, she heard about Jesus, the author and finisher of her faith. Secondly, she began to speak, and finally, she took action. (You’ll never gain ground by sitting still. You’re going to have to move.)

Confession

Mark 5:28 (AMPC) “For she kept saying, ‘If I only touch His garment, I shall be restored to health.” What you say sets the course that you will walk out. When you feel all is lost and hopeless, begin to speak God’s word. Get out your verses and confession books and start reading aloud. This programs your spirit to release the life source within you. Proverbs 4:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.

The power of confession is not in repetition. The woman with the issue of blood did not get healed because of the number of times she confessed her faith in Jesus. Her confession solidified her will and determination to focus on what she believed.

Her confession enabled her to push past the crowd of resistance and opposition to possess healing. God watches over your confession, not your complaint. So don’t give up speaking God’s word, as it will produce life in every lifeless area.

Pray in Power

Secondly, you must pray in the Holy Spirit; pray in tongues. I enjoy working out and, in the past, have hired personal trainers and watched numerous exercise videos to achieve a specific result. I don’t have to understand the exercise, and I might think it makes me look silly while doing it, but when I trust my instructor, I see the desired result. Praying in tongues is the same.

Praying in tongues wars against the natural mind, and it sounds silly, but I’m not concerned so much about convincing my mind or with how I look, but I am interested in what the Bible says praying in tongues produces. 1 Corinthians 14 is loaded with statements that I am after. Verse 2, “For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God.” Verse 4, “He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself…” Verse 17, “For you indeed give thanks well…” These and so many more are what I’m after. When I pray in tongues, my mind becomes unfruitful; it wanders, wondering what is happening. Still, when I disregard the feeling of “this is weird” and focus on the divine mysteries and secrets that I’m praying out, the strengthening of my being and the entrance into God’s presence with thanksgiving, you’ve got my attention. Praying in tongues produces power for overcoming the obstacles of life.

Forgive to Succeed

Lastly, forgive everyone in every area of life, regardless of the circumstances. Matthew 6:14 (AMPC) says, “For if you forgive people their trespasses [their reckless and willful sins, leave them, letting them go, and giving up resentment], your heavenly Father will also forgive you.” I heard a minister say it this way, “Drop it, leave it, and let it go.” Forgiveness produces success. 1 Corinthians 13:8, “Love never fails…” When we love others despite the wrongs done to us, whether intentionally or unintentionally, we set ourselves on the course to succeed. This is how we will accomplish all that God has placed in our hearts: confess life, pray in power, and forgive to succeed!
