“Arise and Shine”

I want to wish you a Happy New Year on behalf of Mandy and me. May we see what we say, and believe what we hear the Father speak, for in doing so we will arrive at the fullness of every promise. In 2021 we must declare, “…This is God’s year to act!” Luke 4:18 (MSG)

Make no mistake about the current events that are unfolding right before our eyes, they are disturbing naturally speaking and yet exciting, knowing scripture is literally being fulfilled in our lifetime. A few months back the Lord spoke to me a phrase that continues to play in my mind. He said, “Into the dark.” I obviously began to search out scripture and see if I could grab some understanding and detail to what I was sensing. What I am about to say may seem a little extreme but with what I will lay out in this letter I know we will end on a high note. I believe that we are entering into a darkness that will be bolder than in years past with no apprehension or apologies. It will move swiftly and seemingly with no restraint, but it is only a tool used to build a platform for end-time events. John 3:19 tells us that the only reason people like darkness is because the light that comes into the world reveals their evil deeds. Darkness is the cloak the devil masquerades in to accomplish his will.

One of the great attacks of the devil through this darkness is division. John 2:9-10 says, “He who says he is in the light, and hates his brother, is in darkness until now, he who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him.” Please know that the simplest form of offense is a step into the darkness where your eyes become restricted to the truth. We must keep ourselves in the light, by staying Word focused. Psalms 119:130 says, “The entrance of Your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.”

I want to encourage you with Isaiah 60:1-2 which reads, “Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you. Although the days of great darkness are rapidly approaching, a greater wave of glory is rising. I believe there will be a great divide of light and dark, of good and evil, and men will have to choose whom they will serve. As Joshua confidently stated, “As for me and my house we will serve the Lord.”

The good news is that no matter the density of Satan’s deception and ploy to blanket the nations with darkness I like what John 1:5 (NLT) says, “The light shines in the darkness and the darkness can never extinguish it.” (Understand it or overcome it) There is no negotiation between light and dark. I’ve never flipped the light switch and waited while the light and dark discussed who was going to leave. What I want you to see is that we win and have nothing but good to look forward to if we will keep ourselves in the light as He is in the light.

I want to give you three benefits from a life lived in God’s light.

1. Secrets revealed – Daniel 2:22 “He reveals deep and secret things: he knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with him.”

Job 12:22 (NLT) “He uncovers mysteries hidden in darkness; he brings light to the deepest gloom.”

2. Disease destroyed – Psalms 91:6 “Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday.”

Isaiah 58:8 (AMPC) “Then shall your light break forth like the morning, and your healing (your restoration and the power of a new life) shall spring forth speedily; your righteousness (your rightness, your justice, and your right relationship with God) shall go before you [conducting you to peace and prosperity] and the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.

3. Abundant provision – Isaiah 45:3 (NKJV) “I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places, that you may know that I, the Lord who calls you by your name, Am the God of Israel.

Psalms 112:3-4 (NKJV) “Wealth and riches will be in his house, and his righteousness endures forever. Unto the upright there arises light in the darkness; He is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.”

There is nothing to be concerned about in the future or in the turn of events that may seem as if it will bring devastation and hardship. We are in the light and will walk safely past all strategies of the enemy for God’s word declares our victory.

I end with this. Psalms 23:4 (TPT) “Lord, even when your path takes me through the valley of deepest darkness, fear will never conquer me, for you already have! You remain close to me and lead me through it all the way. Your authority is my strength and my peace. The comfort of your love takes away my fear. I’ll never be lonely, for you are near.”
