“Foundation Of Love”

Foundations. You can’t build without them and a structure will not be kept solid with one that is weak and cracking from the elements. Homeowners east of Interstate 35 here in New Braunfels, TX know much about this type of situation. It’s common to drive through neighborhoods and see several houses with foundation crews digging around the house placing supports under shifting and uneven areas. Cracks, busted pipes, sticking windows and doors are just a few of the problems one can encounter. If you have ever dealt with a foundation issue, you’re like, “Yeah, no thank you, what a bother!” Much like this scenario, a life that is not built and instructed on the foundation of God’s Love will have an outcome like one of these houses.

Truly, every person that has accepted Christ as his or her Lord and Savior has a foundation of love, for Jesus is the sent and displayed love of God, which has been deposited in them by His Spirit. However, this foundation left neglected and untaught will cause one’s faith to lose grip and fall short of its promised potential. The knowledge of God’s love must be a priority in our lives. Love is not just the expressing of emotion; it’s the institution of our success. 1Corinthians 13 clearly states that the forces that fortify the heart of a recreated believer are all for nothing without love. All spiritual gifts, faith, community outreach, great sacrificial giving, and becoming a martyr are fruitless without it. I believe our hang up where love is concerned is that we see it mainly as what is expressed toward others who try our patience. Yet this expression of love will never operate in its richness until we come entirely and intimately to know Christ’s love for us. To grow in the love of God we must daily water the foundation with His word firmly planting and grounding ourselves in it receiving revelation of its exhibition. Otherwise, we are only trying to love others from self-effort, which wars against the will of God.

1 John 4:12 No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected (matured and run its full course) in us.

Loving others must come from the perfected and matured love that abides in us. The area that I want us to reach is where we operate in a #NOLIMIT understanding of this love. See, I believe that when we are made aware of how much God abundantly loves us we will understand the level that He desires us to operate from.

Romans 8:32 says, “He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?”

God’s love was without restraint or regret when paying the extravagant price for our salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ. This amazing demonstration of love that was placed on display for our salvation was decided on before the foundation of the world. This is what makes the love of God so real, it cannot be altered or reversed because of an act of ignorance or rebellion. It pursues with the most aggressive power that knows no constraint and is unwilling to stop until its desire is fulfilled. This was God’s position in redeeming you from the grip of Satan. There was no turning back for Him; we were His prize and ultimate desire. After accomplishing this through the humble obedience of Jesus, the Father placed this same limitless love in our hearts, so in turn we would pursue and love Him with the same resilience. This amazing love affair between God and His man is the foundation that catapults us into a realm of success and ability. We must awaken to this amazing love and by our energized faith take hold of its vigor and capacity in our lives. As we do, visions will be accomplished, lives saved, bodies healed and needs abundantly met.

1 John 4:19 We love Him because He first loved us.

“Love had to express Himself before it could be reciprocated, and before love can be expressed through us, it must be known and experienced.”
