In a time where fear is given great attention and even celebrated, we must learn to safeguard our hearts from its aggressive grip. To establish our hearts against such a squeeze we must come to the place of receiving the love, power and wisdom of God manifested in Jesus.
The Psalmist said it this way concerning the righteous:
Psalms 112:7-8 He will not be afraid of evil tidings; His heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord. His heart is established; He will not be afraid, until he sees his desires upon his enemies.
The love of God evicts fear from our hearts; the power of God quickens and enables us while the wisdom of God gives us the ways and thoughts of His character as we stand in awe and reverent worship of Him during an attack.
Fear never announces its entrance, “Here I come, get ready to be completely terrified.” No, it comes as a stowaway, like a bold unwelcome guest wanting to place its hold on our lives; it forces its thoughts of doubt, shoving us from the certainty of truth that lies in the word of God. All fear is birthed from the unknown and meditation of possible outcomes. The reason we panic in fear is that it’s an emotion foreign to our original design and toxic to our soul.
Fear made its grand introduction to mankind in the garden when man decided to lean on his own understanding and reasoning apart from God’s spoken word. The lies of Satan brought the thoughts of wonder and uncertainty where complete truth and trust once reigned. We must not tolerate fear because it undermines the work of Christ and distorts our position as righteous children of God.
1 John 4:6 We are of God (LOVE) …by this we know the spirit of truth….”
Fear is nothing more than the work of deception preying on our hearts to convince us that our place in Christ is incomplete and God is some distant mystery.
Our hearts are established in the free gift of righteousness and abundant grace that is found Jesus. We determine by our will to refuse the evidence presented that would move us to a position that is below the Will of God. DO NOT BE MOVED by fear in small matters or big. We see Him, hear Him, know Him and by faith live our lives through Him.
We must become dogmatic as the Psalmist was and make a decision of our will and shout with absolute confidence Psalms 118:6 “I will not fear!” There is no outcome of any size that God’s love has not already conquered. His love has been to the highest heights, gone to the deepest depths, ran farther and been stretched wider than imaginable and has never failed, weakened, ripped or passed out. He has completely eliminated all strongholds of fear and then simply handed complete victory over to us.
Fear is easily detected for it always paints a picture of loss and being trapped in utter despair. Sensing Jairus’ panic, Jesus said:
Mark 5:36 (AMP) …do not be seized with alarm and struck with fear: only keep believing.
Once you recognize this type of panic, simply raise your hands and begin to praise and worship the Lord. Read Psalms 103:1-5 and declare your freedom from fear and take your forgiveness, healing and abundance of all good things.
